Working with the owner and Desmone Architects out of Morgantown, WV, Dick Building Company was the general contractor on the 8,563 SF pre-existing building and the construction of 9,572 SF addition to the auto dealership located south of Uniontown. The scope included extensive interior demolition of the existing structure. Several complicated shoring projects were critical to the scope of work to allow for the existing structure to stay in place. Permanent beams were installed to create a seamless addition to the existing building. New electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were installed. New underground conduits for electrical service were set to replace the overhead existing service which helped clear the view and to eliminate height restrictions for oversized vehicles.
The exterior of the building was updated to include new facade aluminum front panels and storefront windows in addition to several new service garage doors. New concrete sidewalks were installed along the front of the building to complete the new refreshed exterior style of the Solomon Dealership.
The interior of the structure is comprised of drywall finished walls and glass wall panels for the sales department. Porcelain tile, epoxy painted flooring and carpeted offices complete the flooring of the dealership. The building is equipped with two showrooms and service centers, ample office space, a conference room and an employee break room. The dealership also has a retail area and a dedicated space for customers.
